Extend Your Active Directory to the Cloud

Posted on: July 1st, 2015 | Category: Cloud Computing

With the proliferation of Cloud delivered Software as a Service (SaaS) products within many organizations, managing user access to the domain and these SaaS products is within the control of your IT Administration organization.   The addition of SaaS applications tends to be outside Active Directory and has made identity management, user access and authorization a challenge for IT.

If you’re running a Windows domain at release level 2008 or higher, you would be well advised to evaluate the available Federated Services (FS)capabilities of your Active Directory (AD).   With the AD FS capabilities organizations can allow for streamlined user management rights and privileges, provide the user experience with a single sign-on capability to trusted third party providers, and improve the security posture of your business through centrally provisioned and de-provisioned users based on added or disabled Active Directory Users.
